Ron began as a carpet and vinyl flooring installer in 1960. After 27 years in the trade, he opened Southport Carpets in 1987.

Carpet is at the centre of Bell Carpets. It is where the range runs deepest, where years in the trade show up in the details, and where a considered choice can change how a room feels.

Vinyl plank is the other product we specialise in. Keeping the focus to these two categories means each one gets the attention it deserves, from the first conversation to the finished room.

Leon grew up around Southport Carpets, the business his father built, then began his own flooring apprenticeship in 2003. He learnt the trade on the tools, just as Ron had before him.

Leon took over the business in 2014. In 2025, Southport Carpets became Bell Carpets.

Bell Carpets is a family operation in the truest sense. Melissa Bell, Cheri Bell and Colette Bazak look after the daily running of the Southport office. When you call or visit, you are dealing with people personally invested in how the job goes.

That connection continues through a small, carefully selected team of installers. They take pride in their craft and are genuinely good people.
